« France exports wine, spirits, clothing and luxury goods to a very small Norwegian market. From 1830 onwards, it began importing Norwegian timber in relatively large quantities: it became Norway's third largest customer, purchasing one-fifth of its timber exports in 1859. During the 1860s, France also increased its imports of salted fish from Norway."
